    Alternative to Acronis

    Dear All,

    I am getting more and more issues with acronis and is starting to take up too much time supporting the application when I should be supporting my users. This is not anything to do with the comodoone platform but issue around getting the software to register after a re installation of the OS.

    I wondered if anyone can recommend a good cloud backup solution for servers preferably with support for EU/UK.

    Hello msitcmatt ,

    Indeed, in case you need to re-register a client machine, the command line must include the URL that you are using to access your management console, in this case https://us-cloud.acronis.com. The KB is somehow confusing from this point of view especially if it's the first time when you are facing this issue.
    However, we are glad to hear that you have managed to re-register the clients and if you encounter any other issues, please do not hesitate to contact us.

    Hi Thanks for the response - I have managed to get the clients to show in the acronis portal now. It was a slight oversight of mine.

    All the knowledge base articles tell you to:

    Open Command prompt and navigate to C:\Program Files\BackupClient\BackupAndRecovery:
    cd "C:\Program Files\BackupClient\BackupAndRecovery"
    Issue this command to register the client machine:
    register_msp_mms.exe register https://cloud.acronis.com <account> <password>

    taken from https://kb.acronis.com/content/55244

    However this does not work on the MSP version the correct command is to replace the https://cloud.acronis.com with the url of your managment console in my case https://us-cloud.acronis.com
